I love the spontaneity that I am afforded when it’s just my camera and me on a family shoot. No elaborate set-up, no fancy props… just us hanging out and having fun. Especially when it’s with one of my favorite families and friends, the Arendts. We literally just be-bopped around downtown Conway- which is super cute by the way- as I captured so many sweet moments of them. It was such a fun little adventure and I am always honored for the opportunity to make memories for families I love.

Happy Mother’s Day to one of the MOST amazing mommas that I know! xo

Reagan: 8 months

What a treat to watch this little pumpkin grow up! We went to a park in Irmo for our early morning session and took advantage of the beautiful light that greeted us. As always, I loved hanging out with this adorable family and was glad that Reagan’s grandma could join us!

So, it’s already been 6 months since my little muffin was born… it makes me emotional to even say that out loud. So much has happened since his birth and yet it feels like it was last week. He is such a joy and so completely happy most of the time. His crooked, little smile is infectious, he spends most days squealing at the TOP of his lungs, and he is oh, so ticklish. We have daily fits of hysterical laughter and I LOVE it. Everywhere we go I hear, “Oh, he’s a big boy!” Which is true. He’s also as solid as a rock and strong, I tell ya. I love to daydream about how these physicalities will manifest themselves in his activities and interests as he gets older.

Since life with two kiddos is so much more busy than I ever imagined, I haven’t gotten to tackle Gavin’s photos the way I could with Estella when she was younger. So please forgive me for the amount of photographs in this blog post! Here is my little man over the past six months….

Reagan: Four Months Old

Reagan’s momma Laura and I were both pregnant at the same time and our little ones are exactly two weeks apart. I knew I would be smitten with baby Reagan before I even met her. Boy, was I right! She is so beautiful and one of the happiest babies I’ve ever seen. We had her out in the cold (only for a few minutes) and changed her outfits countless times… never once did she fuss or cry. She is such a doll and I consider myself pretty lucky that I get to do two more sessions with her and her sweet family by the time she is one.

I’m also pretty smitten with her pink and cream, oh-so-girlie nursery! You can tell that Laura had a lot of fun designing and decorating it. She even made all of Reagan’s crib bedding, her name plate above the closet, and added sweet little ribbons to all of the picture frames. And the super cute pearl tree is actually a nightlight!

I loved hanging out with y’all and can’t wait to see you again soon!

Jacob + Family

This is the second time in a year that I’ve had the honor of photographing baby Jacob (who has turned one since this session so he’s now a big boy!). I love being able to follow my clients as they grow up- especially this one with his super sweet personality. You can see our first session here, when he was only a month old.

Dandelions

Time seems to be an elusive little bugger these days. It might have something to do with all of the nesting Andrew and I have been doing to get ready for our little fella. As we focus on preparing for the baby and getting the to do list squared away, I find myself needing lots of quality time with my sweet girl. One of her favorite things to do is to pick flowers (mainly the dandelions that are rampant in our yard), so I’ve had my eye on this ginormous field of them nearby. Turns out, the day after we enjoyed running through the flowers, someone came to mow it all away. Things like that make me love these photographs even more.

It doesn’t get much better than a family full of redheads! The littlest one totally captured my heart with his bubbly personality and sweet demeanor. I seriously have not met a HAPPIER baby! He had so many different happy faces (as you can see in the first image) and he had me laughing all day!

Since I spend a lot of time orchestrating photo shoots for my clients, I’ve decided to do one for my daughter on her birthday every year. I had it all planned out- the location, the day, the outfits. But, as luck would have it, I was foiled by bad weather and a cranky child at each attempt.

A couple of weeks later, much to my delight, I happened to look outside and noticed the most beautiful light in my front yard. Being a mother has taught me how wonderful things can happen when we forgo our plans and let spontaneity take over. Here are the images from our impromptu shoot that was only possible with a lack of planning.

Okay. You might want to sit down for this one. The cuteness meter has definitely gone off the charts. Seriously.

Wyatt is the nephew of my good friend Jacqui, and also another recipient of a HGP gift certificate. I love that folks are giving these to their friends & family! We had some beautiful light for our morning shoot in Gilbert and were even able to get a few shots of the cousins who were visiting.

Lucas is one!

I had the pleasure of photographing little Lucas because his mom received a HGP gift certificate as a present (which I thought was a fabulous idea)! For our mini-session, we headed down to Riverfront Park last weekend and got some really fun images. This handsome little fellow is sure to break some hearts later on with those baby blues!
