Laura + Matt: Engagement

This sweet couple and I met up in Charleston for what had to have been one of the hottest days of the year. It was a scorcher! We hit up the Citadel, where Matt is an alum, before heading over to the gorgeous Boone Hall Plantation. They are such a good-natured couple and I can’t wait for their wedding next year!

Jessie + Brandon: The Wedding

This beautiful wedding had it all. Tons of laughter, many joyous tears, a close-knit family who truly enjoys each other, and a couple so in love you can feel it. I am lucky to have been a part of this special day and to have had the opportunity to get to know Jessie and Brandon.

The ceremony was held at Lexington Presbyterian Church, followed by a fabulous reception at the Columbia Museum of Art. Jessie’s sister Mandy did a spectacular job with the planning, making sure that everything was flawless for this most deserving couple!

The Color Amber Salon

This shoot was so fun for me- from working with the lovely ladies of Color Amber Salon, to scouting our location, to seeing the awesome ‘do that they each came up with. We had such a blast! The Color Amber is one of Columbia’s newest salons, but the ladies behind it have been making people beautiful for many, many years. Erin, the owner and stylist extraordinaire, has been stylin’ my locks for the last six years and I just love her. All three women are uniquely talented and different, which makes for such an awesome dynamic. Erin, Tiffany, and Taylor- you girls can rock it out with the best of ‘em!

Cicely + Brian: Engagement

I was excited to finally meet Cicely after months of phone conversations and emails. You see, she lives in Atlanta, Brian lives here in Columbia, and the fabulous Shannon Baker brought us all together. We had a really fun session on July 4th weekend and I can’t wait for their wedding in September!

Stephanie + Patrick: The Wedding

Over the past six months, I have grown quite fond of these two, so I was super excited when their big day finally arrived. They decided at the last minute to see each other before the ceremony at Rutledge Chapel, and boy am I glad they did! Hands down, those are my favorite images of the day. Neither the scorching heat, nor the swarms of mosquitoes were going to get in the way of their beautiful “first look” session on the Horseshoe. Oh, and remember the part about them being huge Gamecock fans? The “other man” in Stephanie’s life helped to kick off a pretty awesome party at Embassy Suites. Thanks to Sylvia Rish, their wonderful wedding planner, and to Rish Florist, who did a knock-out job with the flowers!

Stephanie + Patrick: Rehearsal

I really love shooting the rehearsal because, by the next day at the wedding, I’m just another familiar face. Steph and Patrick are H-U-G-E Gamecock fans so we were on campus all evening, and were able to walk to Capstone for dinner. Capstone houses the only revolving restaurant in the Carolinas and the 360 degree views are just amazing. Also amazing was the food! It was a garnet & black themed, feather-filled weekend and fun was definitely had by all!

Since Stephanie and Patrick just tied the knot on Saturday, I can finally share her bridal portraits. Her veil is simply fabulous and might be my favorite to date! She’s truly one of those people who is just as beautiful on the inside and it’s been a pleasure to work with her!

Asher is One!

I was honored when my friend and mentor asked me to shoot her baby boy’s first birthday. Asher is, by far, one of the sweetest toddlers- even my daughter is smitten with him. The house was filled with laughter, tons of family, friends and, thanks to Skype, even his grandmother in Mississippi could be there. Despite not eating a single morsel of his cake, he did manage to cover himself in chocolate.
