When I met with Jessie and her sister Mandy for her consultation, I knew within five minutes that this was going to be an awesome fit and we would wind up being friends. She’s so much fun and very laid-back, and if you’ll notice, has a little Sasha Fierce in her! We did her session on her birthday (how cool is that?) and she brought her fiance’s Harley Davidson (even cooler). Their wedding isn’t until next month, but I got top secret clearance to go ahead and share these images.

Thanks to my husband’s research trip (for a book he’s writing) and to frequent flyer miles, I was recently able to go to Ireland for a week. It was, at the very least, one of the best trips of my life. While in Kilkenny for the weekend, we toured the town’s castle, built in 1192. With Andrew lost in the castle’s art collection, I struck up a conversation with their conservator, who was restoring two very old frames at the end of the gallery. A question about thatched-roof cottages led to an invitation to her house in the countryside for dinner!
I am so grateful to have met Sue and hope that we stay in touch for a very long time. She’s super talented and was just hired by the Tate Britain Museum; had I been there two weeks later, our paths never would have crossed. And when I say it was a magical night, nothing short of fairies landing on my shoulder could have made it any more so. Here’s a look at my brief but memorable time in Ballycallan with our new friends….

After our post-dinner walk, Sue went into her backyard and came back with these from her greenhouse!

I’m not a huge fan of being in front of the camera… so my uber-thoughtful husband decided, for Mother’s Day, that needed to change. Apparently, all these years of having a camera in his face have paid off and he picked up a thing or two. I’d hire him any day of the week.

These two lovebirds were married at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church here in downtown Columbia. The reception was held at the Columbia Museum of Art and the lovely Cricket Newman handled all of the wedding planning. I’ve known Lane for many years now, and it was so incredible to be part of her beautiful day. The love between these two is so palpable, so real, and you can just tell it will last for many lifetimes!

These folks are like family to me, so when Julie asked me to take some photographs of their precious Aven, I don’t even think she got to finish her sentence before I started squealing in delight! I mean, could this baby be any cuter?

I had the best time with this couple in Charleston last weekend! Patrick proposed to Steph on the Battery, so we decided to start at the tree where it all began.

Our neighbors to the north hold a special place in my heart. My love affair started in 1998, when I lived there for a summer… since then, I go back every chance I get. Three years ago this past week, Andrew and I were married on the shores of Lake Lure, at the foot of Rumbling Bald Mountain. So to celebrate 3 beautiful years of marraige and turning 33, I wanted to be surrounded by 3 of my favorite things: the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina wineries, and my wonderful husband. Here are a few images from our latest journey…

And I couldn’t help myself with this one… a couple things you just don’t see every day!

Thanks to all of you who came out yesterday to the St. Andrews Bridal Showcase here in Columbia! What a great way to start off the New Year!

A special thanks to the Button Florist for making this custom brooch for me… I just love it!

I have had the pleasure of watching this beautiful family expand and grow over the years… definitely a job perk that I love! Here’s a look at their newest addition and his big brother.
