What an enchanting city. Filled with canals, flowers, gorgeous architecture, bicycles, houseboats, and friendly people, Amsterdam completely stole my heart. I was fortunate to tag along on my husband’s research trip and got to spend a week in this lovely city. We stayed in the cutest Airbnb and loved how walkable everything was. I had heard ahead of time that De Kas Restaurant was a must, and it ended up being one of my favorite moments of the trip. Housed in a greenhouse, De Kas grows all of their own organic vegetables and herbs on site and has a fixed menu that changes daily depending on the harvest. Hands down, it was one of the best meals I've ever had and was the coolest space for a modern restaurant with rich urban history.
Our other highlights (and things I recommend for anyone traveling there) were the Van Gogh Museum, Rembrandt's House, Anne Frank House, Fotografiemuseum (FOAM), a dinner cruise on the canals, the floating flower market (Bloemenmarkt), and a day trip outside the city. We decided to take the train south to Den Haag to find windmills and visit the Mauritshuis Museum (home of the Girl with a Pearl Earring). I'm already thinking about our next trip there to catch the flower fields blooming in the spring!
A few favorites from Kristen and Sean's engagement session in DuPont Forest.
Everyone who works in the wedding industry understands that back up plans are a way of life. But when there is a hurricane headed straight for your wedding day... back up plans, umbrellas, extra site visits, equipment rain gear, and creative thinking are also essential. When I spoke with Natalie a few days before her wedding about moving all portraits to a different location, she could not have been more positive and gracious. She was super calm and simply said, "I trust you, whatever you think is best." Best words I could ever hear.
As I walked into the gorgeous house the bridal party was getting ready in, I forgot about the weather and soaked in the warm, energized room full of smiling faces. Natalie and Brad have the best families and friends and everyone was so full of joy.
The entire day was perfect and smooth and stunningly beautiful. Her team of vendors, led by the extraordinary Meagan Warren, made sure everything was flawless *and* the rain even cleared for a few portraits during the reception. It truly was the best day ever! Take that Hurricane Matthew. ;)
Natalie and Brad, I just love y'all and your families and I'm so honored to have spent this amazing day with you! xoxo

My time with this sweet family was so delightful. Baby boy Cy was one of the easiest babies I've photographed... he drifted in and out of sleep and gave me the cutest little yawns. Thanks for having me Sara Beth and Tripp, I so enjoyed it!
This happy, smiley girl is 6 months old! Here are a few favorites from our session.
Natalie is one of the sweetest brides I've ever worked with. And her dress! Hands down one of the most amazing dresses I've ever laid eyes on. Round it out with a gorgeous bouquet from Fern Studio and you've got bridal perfection right here.
