There's something so magical about newborn sessions that have always made them a favorite of mine. Spending time with a family that has just brought home it's newest member, when everyone is getting to know each other, figuring out the new normal, where most days are only spent sleeping and eating and establishing a routine... this is such a special time and I love having the opportunity to document it. Thank you sweet Hoey family for having me, y'all are the best, and I hope to see you again soon!
Loved hanging out with these sweet sisters!
If you have never stumbled across the amazing blog Wordless News you must go have a look. It is the brainchild of my good friend and designer Maria Fabrizio and it. is. fabulous. Her talents got the attention of NPR and she now does illustrative work for their program Morning Edition. The good folks at NPR did a feature on Maria a couple of years ago, and they are working on another one. When she called to ask if I would help document her creative process for the feature, I could not wait to get started. Maria + NPR = two of my favorite things.
Looking for an assistant photographer to join our team this year! This person must be driven, responsible, able to work independently and problem solve, and have a strong work ethic.
This is a paid, part-time shooting position, so you must have your own equipment and be available on Saturdays.
Please send a letter of interest, equipment list, link to your wedding portfolio, and contact info to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 15, 2016. We will be in touch with applicants who we think might be a good fit within two weeks of February 15.
We can't wait to hear from you!
Sonja and John live in sunny California but were married in their hometown of Columbia. I didn't have the opportunity to meet them ahead of the wedding weekend, but I could tell right away what a special, sweet connection they have. They would each light up when the other entered the room (which I heard several guests commenting about at the reception). It was obvious to everyone around them and so heartwarming to watch. I absolutely loved their style and the art deco wedding they planned. The perfect color palette of ivory, black, gold, and burgundy was paired with gorgeous florals. And those dresses! Sonja's wedding dress with its sheer 3/4 sleeves and the gold sequined bridesmaids' dresses-- oh my goodness were they lovely and fabulous. It always makes me so happy when I see a couple make design choices that reflect who they are instead of just following the popular trends.
Thank you Sonja and John for having me document your beautiful day and I wish you both all the happiness your hearts can hold.
