It is such a special thing to photograph two weddings for one family. Especially when the family is as amazing as this one. I first met Sylvie when I photographed her twin sister's bridal portraits a couple of years ago and was elated when she asked me to document her wedding as well. I love these ladies and am so grateful for the wonderful experience it has been working with them and their families over the past couple of years. To know this sweet couple is to love them. Matthew is a standup guy and it only takes a few seconds to realize that he and Sylvie were meant for each other. Together, they exude joy and love and fun and are the kind of people you want to be around. I wish you two the best of the best and I can't wait to see what adventures the future holds for you. Love you both!

There's something so magical about newborn sessions that have always made them a favorite of mine. Spending time with a family that has just brought home it's newest member, when everyone is getting to know each other, figuring out the new normal, where most days are only spent sleeping and eating and establishing a routine... this is such a special time and I love having the opportunity to document it. Thank you sweet Hoey family for having me, y'all are the best, and I hope to see you again soon!

If you have never stumbled across the amazing blog Wordless News you must go have a look. It is the brainchild of my good friend and designer Maria Fabrizio and it. is. fabulous. Her talents got the attention of NPR and she now does illustrative work for their program Morning Edition. The good folks at NPR did a feature on Maria a couple of years ago, and they are working on another one. When she called to ask if I would help document her creative process for the feature, I could not wait to get started. Maria + NPR = two of my favorite things.

Every time I look at these images, I smile. This session is definitely a favorite and has inspired me to make more imagery that shows the magic of childhood, the whimsy in the everyday. Clayton was the perfect little forest fairy and I'm so grateful that her mom was supportive of the vision I had for her.

I have been dreaming of doing this session with my littles for a long time. Dreaming of making these sweet photographs for them to look at when they are teenagers and fighting over the car they will likely share. And for me to look at when we drop them off at college. And hopefully, one day, for their children to look at. I love being able to create something that is part of a family's legacy. Both for my clients and for myself. The days are long and the years are short when you have small children. I want to always remember these days.
